Gum disease, normally referred to as Periodontal (literal meaning being "around the tooth") disease, is among the most popular form of dental diseases brought on by an accumulation of plaque as well as bacteria. This build up could lead to the gum to become inflamed around any number of teeth currently being described in its mildest of styles as Gingivitis.
In this point, the gum can become inflamed surprisingly causing little or maybe no discomfort making it extremely tough to detect. One of the very few tell tale signs will consist of reddening of the gums, or perhaps typical bleeding from brushing. Thankfully this form could be treated with professional help and good oral hygiene at home.
If however Gingivitis is left untreated, it can then develop on to the next stage called Periodontitis. This is exactly where plaque spreads and also grows beneath the gum line causing the gums to be inflamed and later on causes the body to attack the gums themselves. This particular strike breaks down the bone and tissue that very literally hold your teeth in. In time the gum is going to start to separate from the teeth and type pockets which continues to progress and deepen, inevitably resulting in at the best loose teeth; although in many cases the tooth will need to be removed.
While basic absence of dental hygiene and build up of plaque is generally to blame for this, there are other factors that can contribute to the condition including the following: smoking, pregnancy, prodentim independent reviews (see it here) genetics, diabetes, stress, poor nutrition and puberty. Gum is the part that helps in surrounding tooth and it should be protected primarily to protect the tooth.
